Content Filtering & VPN Disclosure:

Aikona App is a parental-control and digital-wellbeing app. To block harmful and age-restricted websites — such as gambling, betting, and adult content — Aikona uses Android's VpnService to run an on-device content filter.

This is a local filter: it does not route your browsing through any external or remote server, does not tunnel or proxy your internet traffic, and does not collect, read, or transmit the contents of your online activity. It works entirely on the device by inspecting DNS (domain-name) lookups and blocking requests to restricted sites, while all other traffic continues over your normal network connection. The VpnService is essential to Aikona's App core website-blocking feature and runs only while protection is enabled.

Accessibility Service Disclosure:

Aikona is a parental-control and digital-wellbeing app, and its core content-blocking features are powered by Android's Accessibility Service. Aikona uses the Accessibility Service to:

• Detect when a restricted or blocked app is opened, so it can be blocked in real time. • Read website addresses (URLs) and the search terms typed in browsers and search boxes, so that harmful, gambling, and age-restricted websites and searches can be blocked. • Prevent the app and its protection settings from being disabled, changed, or uninstalled without the parent/guardian's PIN.

This anti-tampering capability is used only as permitted for parental-control apps and is authorized by the parent or guardian who sets up and controls Aikona App. Aikona App does not use the Accessibility Service to collect data for advertising, to record calls, to bypass Android's privacy controls, or for any purpose unrelated to content filtering and device protection. You can turn the Accessibility Service off at any time in your device Settings.
