About this game

*** WARNING: This game contains loud noises and frightening scenes which some players may find disturbing! ***

Although the game works fine on smartphones, for the best experience we recommend you play Dark Fear on a tablet with a decent pair of headphones. If the game "hangs" it's most likely related to low-resource issues on your device. Try shutting down all background apps and freeing up some space before restarting your device. This should help fix the issue.

Dark Fear is a unique pixel-horror themed RPG/adventure game

You wake up in pitch blackness. You have no idea who you are, where you are or how you got here - it's up to you to figure it out!

For horror game fans seeking out that ultimate fix, 'Dark Fear' delivers an immersive, frightening experience wrapped in a cinematic soundtrack and a dark, twisted storyline written by an ex-film industry professional. The game can only described as blend between RPG and adventure with a 2D graphical style similar to the classic PC games from the 1980s. Its simplistic approach allows even the most casual gamers to gently unfold and enjoy its many complex layers of game mechanics.

Explore a diverse landscape filled with forests, mountains, lakes and deserts. Make allies in the local village, upgrade your weapon and armor, go hunting/fishing and fight your way to the truth by slaying your foes, solving puzzles and helping people with their problems.

- A combination of both adventure and RPG game mechanics

This is a very unique and enjoyable game. I appreciate the amount of care that was given to this title. The writing/dialogue is fairly well done and there's many things to enjoy here. The puzzles are mostly interesting and some are exceedingly memorable. The sound design is effective. The mini-games and combat are well handled but I wish there was a bit more depth to these features. This isn't a fault of the game but more of an area to expand on. I highly enjoyed the content. Great experience!

It was a fairly short but really fun game. I liked the combination of puzzles and RPG style combat. I was playing at night and got caught off guard by a few of the jump scares - so nice job! It was definitely an enjoyable game, my only recommendation is considering a quest menu, because I occasionally forgot what sequences I was doing and what came next. But overall a really fun game that sucked me in for several hours.

Dark Fear, I've played this game since 2018, and its STILL the greatest unique action/horror game I've played in ages. 😁😄I was kinda bummed when I thought the developers stopped updating the game to keep it available and running. 😕 BUT the developers didn't disappoint, the updated the game and its better than ever! Definitely worth a download (at a small price, for such a great game) 😃👍
