About this app

We have created the “Iain Abernethy Applied Karate App” for your iOS & Android smartphones and tablets. What this means is that you can have masses of applied karate/kata bunkai information at your fingertips! Ratings and reviews

I LOVE the content in this app, especially the "in depth" series for kata. My only complaint (costing it one star) is the app always resets if I switch out of it for any reason (incoming calls, texts, writing this review, etc.), and then I have to remember exactly where I was to pick up where I left off. Other than that, solid app. (Bonus suggestion: if it's possible for you to add "clip notes" or other related written content, that would make the app even better!)

Will not let me register as it keeps kicking me back to the registration screen saying "4 digit PIN required" in red text, forgetting that I actually did type one. Tech support is useless; beyond the initial nonsensical "getting your app ready for launch" response, I've had nothing after 3 days! Also, re-installing didn't help. Addendum: Got passed the initial hurdle (Having contacted Iain Abernethy himself) and am able to actually use the app, though there are still some technical issues like sometimes - somehow accidentally - opening two instances of a video simultaneously, having to restart a video if I enable/disable fullscreen part-way through, which can also cause the video to display in a weird aspect ratio and being rather crash-happy in general. Those shortcomings aside, it's a nice, handy pocket database.

The content from Iain Abernethy is really, really excellent : 5+ stars. The content is enriched very frequently. It is a valuable practitioner's and teacher's resource. However, I am frustrated by technical issues (many of the videos stop playing after 1 minute for me). I have had the issue on three separate devices, so I think it is a problem at the source. But what bugs me most is that the technical team ignore my messages to find a solution. Tech support 0 stars. :o(
