About this app

Teaching the moon's phase change tends to make students harder when the sun's position changes. This is because they do not understand the concept of the phase change of the Moon accurately.

The difference with the existing lunar phase change observation program is that you can move the moon and the sun freely. Of course, the earth can also be rotated, and the sun and moon can be moved at the same time.

Students can install the app on their smartphone and manipulate it freely, and when they get used to it, they can click on the question to see the program's random placement of the moon and the sun to match the moon's position.

1. It is difficult to understand until the first half of the month.
- Place the moon in the bottom moon position and rotate the earth 180 degrees so that the moon is on top of the observer's head. Then we can see that the observer sees the left hand direction rather than the right hand direction.
(If you have a problem on the test sheet, you should turn the test sheet upside down and observe. ^^)
- Or you can select the Sun and Moon buttons at the same time and rotate the Sun and Moon 180 degrees. So the position of the observer does not change, and the sun comes to the left and the moon comes over the head. If you position it like this, it can be easily understood whether the bottom line is left only.

2. Observe when the moon is rising or falling
 - You can find out when the Moon is rising as you rotate the earth from west to east with the desired moon phase.
 - You realize that the moon's appearance has nothing to do with the Earth's rotation, and you can see that people in the northern hemisphere can observe the same moon no matter what time the moon is observed.
 * Note that in the southern hemisphere, the appearance of the moon and the moon are opposite.

3. Explain that the moon floats late by 50 minutes a day
 - While the earth rotates one turn, the moon moves about 13 degrees a day in the direction of earth rotation. Therefore, it can be seen that when viewed from the sun, the moon floats late by 50 minutes a day.

4. Problems
 - You can check the status of the moon by clicking on the question and you can check if your idea is right. If you make it difficult, you may find it difficult to position the sun randomly. At this time, it is easy to think about the sun and the moon at the same time and place the sun on the east or west as it comes out of the textbook.
