Ratings and reviews

REA recently rolling out this app and I totally disagree with the practice of the app charging fees on automatic direct debits. A formal complaint with the Dept of Fair Trading is under way. Switching to the app has taken one convenience from renters that used to be free - totally unacceptable and I consider this a predatory business practice. Apart from that experience managing rent payments with app isn't that great - it's much easier to miss payments compared to scheduled bank transfers.

Terrible app. Good for communication and tracking where your rent is up to, but takes days to actually debit money from your account after it says it's taken (this doesn't happen with any other bank debit), or only allows the day the app chooses for automatic debits to occur. Option for card payment instead of bank details may occur faster (not tested) but comes with fees, which add up significantly if you were to do so on tens of thousands of dollars over the course of a year. It's shameful.

This app seems to have set up a direct debit agreement with my bank without telling me. I wanted to pay via Bank Transfer but instead of telling me the details on where to transfer, it asked for my bsb and account number. Weird, but okay. Hit next, and the next thing I know the payment was processed. No confirmation needed from my bank. I got a receipt, but I think it will be debited from my bank in the next 1-2days. No cancellation or anything.
