You remember what you told the GM at 412. Until you don't.
Area8 is a private notebook for people who run several restaurants. Notes on every store and every manager, follow-ups that don't quietly disappear, and a record that stays with a manager when they transfer.
It is yours. Not a form head office sends down.
FAST, BECAUSE IT IS ON YOUR PHONE
Every screen reads from your device. No spinner between taps, no waiting on a signal in a parking lot, no sync getting in the way of writing something down. If the app is slow you will not use it, and if you do not use it none of the rest matters.
CAPTURE IN THE CAR
One tap, speak, done. On Android 12 and newer, dictation is available only when Android has a dedicated on-device recognizer and language pack ready. Area8 has no online speech fallback and never keeps the recording. If on-device dictation is unavailable, typing works everywhere.
Area8 picks out dates and commitments from what you said and offers them as suggestions you confirm. It never files something you did not approve.
WHAT IT KEEPS
• Every store: number, address, phone, and who works there
• Every manager: their history, which follows them when they move stores
• Notes, tagged, with the photos you choose
• Follow-ups with dates, priorities, and local reminders
• Commitments a manager made to you, tracked separately from what you owe them
• Your own store walk: a checklist you build, not one you were handed
WHAT IT WILL NOT DO
No scores. No grades. No pass or fail. Area8 never rates a store or a person, and it has no automatic reporting channel to your employer. It is a notebook, not an audit.
THE ROLL-UP
One screen: every open loop across every store, overdue first. That is the screen this app exists for.
REPORTS THAT ARE ACTUALLY USEFUL
Export a dated, factual PDF for one store or one manager, with only their items, so you are not handing someone a report that is mostly about other people.
YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS
No account. No Area8 server. No analytics. Your records stay in Area8's private storage. Data leaves only through an action you start, such as sharing a report, looking up store coordinates, sending a support email, saving a backup, or submitting an optional Google Play review. You choose where the backup file goes. New backups are not encrypted, so keep them somewhere private. Older passphrase-protected backups can still be restored.
