About this app

BeforeNow turns the ground under your feet into a doorway to the past.

Stand anywhere — a street corner, a park, a building — and BeforeNow tells you what happened there. Battles, buildings that no longer exist, the people who lived and worked on that exact spot, and the way the place looked long before now.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Discover on the spot — GPS-aware stories about the place you're actually standing in
• See then & now — historical photos matched to where you are today
• Read rich, readable histories drawn from real sources, written to be enjoyed, not skimmed
• Keep a travel diary of your discoveries — your "Befores" — and look back on everywhere you've explored
• Follow a community feed to see what others are uncovering nearby and around the world
• Explore together in private groups with friends and family
