DesiLingo teaches kids Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada through short Duolingo-style lessons, picture games, and the alphabet — one tap at a time.

Pick your language and DesiLingo shapes everything around it: greetings, family words, numbers, colors, food, days, common verbs, and useful everyday phrases. Switch any time from the home screen — your progress in each language is tracked separately.

Each language ships with 30 units, 150 bite-sized lessons, the full alphabet with sound, picture words, mini-games, and word scan.

From "Hello" and "Thank you" up to ordering food, asking directions, idioms, and short conversations. Each lesson is five exercises — a few minutes long. Tap to translate, tap to listen, drag to match.

• The whole alphabet, with sound
Walk through every vowel and consonant in the script, with an example word per letter. Then test yourself with the Alphabet Quiz.

Point your camera at any English word and DesiLingo shows you the equivalent in your chosen language, with the pronunciation underneath.

• Encouragement, not punishment — every right answer sparks a chime, confetti, and a kind message. Wrong answers get a gentle nudge.
• Daily goal you can set and forget — presets or roll your own. We quietly track your streak.

• Trophies + a cabinet of badges — first lesson, half the alphabet, week-long streak, course complete… with a share-card for each.
• Reduced-motion mode — turn off confetti and bouncing if it's too much.

I built DesiLingo for my daughter, who I wanted to grow up familiar with the languages her grandparents speak. Indian-language learning apps for kids are thin on the ground — DesiLingo is my attempt at one with the polish and pacing of the best language apps in the world.

🔥 Smarter streak reminders! We now nudge you at the time you usually practice — and stop bugging you once you've finished for the day. Missed a day by accident? A streak freeze can save it (earn one every 7-day streak, up to 2 banked). Reminders now mention the language you're actually learning, not just Telugu. Small fixes and improvements too.
