About this app

BioQuest turns the wildlife you record on iNaturalist into a species collection with rarity, quests and badges, and shows which species in your region are still waiting for you.

COLLECT BY RARITY
Every species in your regional atlas carries a rarity tier: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary or Mythic. Filter the atlas by rarity, save the species you want to chase, and watch your first regional finds appear in their own section.

QUESTS, BADGES AND LEVELS
Your progress page shows your points, level and streak. Complete quests to earn rewards, and collect badges that upgrade as you keep finding species.

FIELD MISSIONS
Explore picks a field mission for your region with up to three target species. Each target explains why it is worth looking for and what evidence helps an identification. Save targets for your next outing.

SPECIES YOU HAVE NOT FOUND
The regional atlas lists species recorded where you explore and marks the gaps in your own list. Where a suitably licensed reference photo exists, it is shown with its attribution and labelled as a reference, never as your find.

DISCOVERIES AFTER EVERY SYNC
When new observations arrive, Discoveries shows what changed: new species, quest progress, rarity and badges earned.

HOW IT WORKS
Sign in with your iNaturalist account in your phone's browser and choose your region. BioQuest imports your existing observations. It reads from iNaturalist and never posts, edits or deletes anything there.

TAKE IT OUTSIDE
Prepare a field pack before you leave coverage to keep your targets and recent records offline, and review your completed outings afterwards. The field notebook stores notes on your device only and works without an account.

PRIVACY
BioQuest has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. You can delete your BioQuest account from the app; this never affects your iNaturalist account or observations.

BioQuest requires an iNaturalist account to import observations. It is not affiliated with iNaturalist.
