About this app

Bitepoint is a driving instructor diary you pay for once, for people who run their own lessons. It is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the DVSA.

It keeps your week of driving lessons, your learner drivers and their block bookings on your own phone. Every part of the app is free for your first five pupils. One payment unlocks unlimited pupils. There is no subscription and no account to set up.

THE DIARY
- Day and Week views of your driving lessons
- Book a lesson once and repeat it every week, until a date or for a number of lessons
- Change one lesson in a repeat, or that lesson and every booked one after it
- Mark the days you are away
- Today's lessons in order, each with the pupil's area or postcode
- The Week view shows about how long the drive is between lessons

PUPIL RECORDS
- Mobile number, area or postcode and pick-up point for each pupil
- Manual or automatic, set for each pupil
- Ring a pupil or open WhatsApp from their page
- Mock test results with driving, serious and dangerous faults
- A progress table that follows the rows of the driving test report

CANCELLATIONS AND OPEN SLOTS
- Mark a cancellation as in time or late, and charge a late one
- Keep the time of a cancelled lesson as an open slot in your diary
- Invite people from your waiting list or your pupils, with the message already typed
- Book someone into the open slot
- Let a late canceller off the charge when the slot is booked, if they have not paid yet
- A waiting list of people who want lessons, with when they can do

BLOCK BOOKINGS AND MONEY
- Record the hours a pupil pays for up front
- Record part of a lesson's price; the rest stays on what the pupil owes
- This month's income, expenses and mileage on the Money tab
- See which lessons are still unpaid
- Read and change a payment confirmation or reminder before you send it on WhatsApp or another app

LESSON REMINDERS
- Remind each of tomorrow's pupils on WhatsApp, with the message already typed
- Send a pupil one booking, or all their upcoming lessons in a weekly repeat, in one message
- Pupils do not need Bitepoint
- An evening reminder on your phone listing tomorrow's lessons, if you switch it on

A COPY YOU KEEP
Your driving instructor diary stays on your phone. Export it to one file whenever you like and keep that file somewhere safe; it restores the whole diary on a new phone. Lessons and payments also export as spreadsheets for your own accounts.

PRIVACY
There is no Bitepoint account and no Bitepoint server holding your diary. Each time it opens, the app checks with RevenueCat, the company that handles purchases for us, whether unlimited pupils is unlocked. Your pupils, lessons and payments are never sent to us or to RevenueCat. The privacy policy has the details.

WHO IT IS FOR
Self-employed driving instructors in the UK, teaching in manual or automatic cars. Bitepoint is a diary for one instructor. Pupils cannot book themselves in, and there is no shared diary for a team.

The driving test guidance in the app comes from these GOV.UK pages and is reused under OGL v3.0:
