This app is still in beta and a lot of people can't get it to connect to their plex server. I ran into the same issue, but was able to fix it. The problem is that the app does not ask for file permissions on your phone so when it's trying to link to plex it can't write its files to your phone. You need to long press on the app icon and go to App Info. Then tap on Permissions and tap on Files and Media and select Allow. After I did this it was able to link to Plex and I can listen to my audiobooks. As for the app, a Family Library option would be nice so not everyone in the household has to subscribe to use it.

Seems like a pretty good solution for streaming Plex, but paying at minimum $24 a year to play content that I host myself is unacceptable. Hopefully this changes in the future. I'd love to be a customer but for now I'll stick to one of the many one time expense alternatives. Edit: I was mistaken, the minimum price is $12.99 a year. That however does not change my opinion since it's still a product (not service) I will never own. If I live another 50 years it will be a $650 app.

The minimum price is not 24$/yr but 11.99$/yr.

While still in the early stages this app exceeds pretty much everything that came before it. If you have your Plex server open to the outside, you are golden. The annual subscription for the service is totally worth it with the playback features, downloading and ease of syncing your place in playback across multiple devices is a godsend and I don't have to rely on Audible anymore and can use my DRM free files in the same manner. Looking forward to new features and continued cleanup of the app.
