Prepare for Confession with greater focus, less distraction, and privacy built in.
Contrite is a Roman Catholic confession preparation app designed for private, thoughtful preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Your examination, selections, notes, counts, and personalization information remain on your device. Contrite does not send your private preparation to Brand-F, does not use cloud sync for confession data, and is designed so sensitive information does not need to leave your phone.
An examination that applies to you
Contrite's Personalized Examination adapts the examination of conscience to your state of life and responsibilities. Choose whether you are single or married and optionally select responsibilities such as parent or guardian, student, employee, manager, caregiver, or public authority. Contrite then leaves out reviewed role-specific material that does not apply to you.
Guided preparation
Work through the examination commandment by commandment. Mark items you want to remember, add private details when needed, review your preparation, and move into Confession Mode when you are ready.
Confession Mode organizes your prepared items and provides simple prompts to help you begin and proceed through confession while still allowing the priest to guide the sacrament.
Privacy you can control
Your current preparation can be saved and locked for later or permanently destroyed with Burn. Burn removes the current encrypted preparation, including selections, private notes, counts or frequencies, circumstances, and Confession Mode progress.
Contrite can also use Quiet Mode on supported Android devices to reduce notification interruptions while you are actively preparing or using Confession Mode. Contrite does not read your incoming notifications.
