Cactux is the climbing app built in Mexico: community guidebooks, offline walking navigation to the boulder, and the partners to go climbing with.
Download a guidebook before you leave and use all of it at the crag with no signal. Walk to the block along the real approach trail, not a straight line. And if you have a Wear OS watch, wear it.
AT THE CRAG
• Offline navigation — Follow the approach trail to a boulder or a route. Works with no data and no coverage.
• Wear OS watch — Send a sector to your wrist and move around the area without pulling out your phone. Navigate, mark points and record trails from the watch, with no signal.
• Topos — Photos of the wall with the lines drawn on them, plus grades, quality and the beta.
• Sector maps — Boulders and sport routes colored by grade, with parking, trails and your own saved points.
• Your own points — Save the car, the water, the shade, where there's signal. They stay on the map for next time.
• Offline mode — Download the guidebook, photos and map tiles. It all lives on your phone.
CREATE AND CORRECT, OFFLINE TOO
• Create sectors, routes, boulders and topos at the crag with no signal. They upload themselves once you're back.
• Suggest routes, boulders and trails on a guidebook that isn't yours — offline too.
• Record trails by walking them, with the GPS in your phone or your watch.
GRADES THE WAY YOU READ THEM
• Convert between V-scale, Font, YDS and French. Pick your system and the whole app follows it — without touching what the first ascensionist wrote.
PARTNERS
• Find climbers — A map of climbers near you, with their grades, goals and availability.
• Sessions — Propose a quick outing, rock or gym, and get it confirmed.
• Trips — Plan longer ones: invitations, join requests, shared expenses, gear lists, carpooling and the forecast for the destination.
• Follow climbers and see what they're sending.
• Messaging — One inbox for all of it.
ALSO
• Log your ascents on boulders and on rope, rate quality and suggest a grade.
• Events — Festivals, comps and meet-ups from the community.
• News and videos from the climbing world.
• In English and Spanish.
