About this app

Engineering Reads is a calm place to read what the people who build software are writing: over 50 engineering newsletters and blogs in one feed, plus the feeds you follow and the links you keep. No account, no ads, and everything stays on your phone.

DISCOVER
A hand-picked feed of new posts from engineering newsletters, personal blogs and company engineering blogs. Every source was checked to be writing original work by practitioners; link roundups and product changelogs are left out.
• Browse by topic: Leadership, Career, Systems, Programming, AI engineering and Company blogs
• Open a source to see everything it has posted lately
• Posts you have read are marked, so the new ones stand out
• Posts marked Paid are previews; the full piece needs a subscription on that newsletter's own site. Hide them in Settings if you prefer
• Star your favourite sources and read only their posts with one tap

FOLLOW
Add any blog, newsletter or site you like. Paste its address and Engineering Reads finds the RSS or Atom feed for you.
• Unread counts per feed, and mark all as read
• Sort feeds into folders
• Import your feeds from another reader with an OPML file, and export them back any time

KEEP
A read-later list that lives on your phone.
• Share a link from Chrome or any app to Engineering Reads and it is kept, with its title, summary and picture filled in
• Tap the bookmark on any post to keep it
• Tag links, search them, and archive what you have finished
• Filter by tag, or by where a link came from: a post you kept in the app or a page you shared in
• Export everything as a bookmarks file any browser imports, or as JSON

READING
• Posts open in a built-in browser, or in your own browser if you prefer
• Share any post or page from the built-in browser
• Three light themes (White, Paper, Sepia) and three dark (Slate, Charcoal, Black)
• Pick the font: Newsreader serif, Geist sans, or your phone's own

YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS
• No account and no sign-up
• No ads, no analytics, no tracking
• Followed feeds, kept links, tags, favourites and read history are stored on this phone only
• Android backup can carry them to a new phone through your own Google account
• Export is free, always

ABOUT THE CONTENT
Engineering Reads is an independent reader, not a publisher. It shows the title, author, summary and picture each source publishes in its public feed, credits the source, and opens every post on the author's own site. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any of the publishers, and their names and content belong to them. Publishers can ask for changes at developersagar2093@gmail.com.
