About this app

FaderLog is a USB audio recorder for DJ mixers and audio interfaces. Record your DJ sets straight from the mixer, in lossless WAV, with nothing but your Android phone and a USB cable. No laptop, no stand-alone recorder.

FaderLog reads the audio directly from your mixer's USB port, the same digital stream a laptop would get. It bypasses Android's own audio path, so you record the exact channels you choose, at the mixer's own sample rate and bit depth, with no resampling and no phone microphone involved.

WHAT YOU NEED
• An Android phone with USB-C (older micro-USB phones need an OTG adapter, a small plug that gives the phone a full-size USB socket)
• A DJ mixer with USB audio, or any class-compliant USB audio interface
• No USB audio on your mixer? Run its REC or BOOTH output into a small USB audio interface and record that. This works with any mixer that has one.
• Some interfaces powered over USB need more power than a phone supplies. A powered USB hub between the two fixes that, and many also charge the phone.

RECORDING
• Lossless WAV at your mixer's own sample rate and bit depth
• Pick the source: master, a send, or an individual channel
• Live level meters and a scrolling waveform
• Live BPM of what you record, plus per channel on supported mixers
• Drop cue markers while you play
• Keeps recording with the screen off; interrupted recordings are recovered
• Stops and saves cleanly before your storage runs out

AFTER THE SET
• Play back on the phone, or out through the mixer
• Trim the start and end at your cue markers
• Normalise loudness: streaming (−14 LUFS), club (−9) or loud (−7)
• Share the WAV to any app, or keep it on the phone

MIXER AUTOMATION (MIDI)
On mixers that send MIDI over USB, FaderLog logs fader, crossfader, CUE and filter-button moves onto the recording's timeline, so you can see what you did and when.

VIDEO MODE
Film your set with the phone's camera while the sound comes from the mixer, not the microphone. Picture and USB audio are joined into one video afterwards.

HARDWARE
FaderLog records from class-compliant USB audio (USB Audio Class 1 and 2), the standard most DJ mixers with a USB port and most audio interfaces use.
• Any class-compliant device: record the master, or any stereo pair it sends
• Mixers with multichannel USB: record a single channel or a send, too
• Supported mixers: named channels, per-channel BPM, and fader and cue moves from the mixer's MIDI
