About this app

Every flag. By heart.

239 flags to learn, out of a 254-flag world. That is a finite, completable number — and Flagory is built to get you all the way to it.

PLAY SOMEONE
Send anyone the same ten flags by link. It opens in their browser and plays there — nothing to install, nothing to sign up for — and neither of you sees the other's score until you have both played the same ten. Beat someone and the next round is one tap away; the app keeps the record between you, you vs them, 4-3. You have a name on it only if you type one.

Or post ten to a group. The link unfurls as a card in the chat, everyone plays the same ten, and the board stays open for days rather than expiring at midnight — so the people who read it on Thursday are playing the same board as the people who read it on Tuesday.

HOW IT WORKS
Flagory keeps a confidence score for every flag and shows you each one just before you would have forgotten it. Answer well and the gap grows; hesitate and it comes back sooner. Nothing about the order is random.

Your mistakes are not wasted either. Say Austria when it was Mexico and the pair is logged, and Mexico keeps appearing next to Austria until you stop getting it wrong. The four options you are offered are built from your own confusions, not from a fixed list.

BRIGHTNESS IS MEMORY
A flag you have just met sits faint, mostly in shadow. Get it right and it comes up — faint, then solid, then sharp — so your collection is a picture of what you know rather than a column of scores, and you can see a weak flag at a glance instead of reading a number. The world lights up the same way, region by region, and the count under it is how many of the 239 you have lit. Mastering one is the last of it: three separate sharp days and one answer typed from memory.

SEVEN WAYS TO PRACTISE
• Pick the Name — the flag, four countries
• Pick the Flag — the country, four flags
• Type It — spell it yourself; typos are forgiven, wrong countries are not
• Cards — flip, and grade yourself honestly
• Match — four flags, four countries, one board
• Lightning — 60 seconds, a combo meter, one personal best
• Face-off — one phone flat on the table, two players, first to five

THE DAILY TEN
Every day, ten flags — the same ten for everyone who plays. Finish and you are placed among the day's players — "you beat 71% of today's 214" — and your run of days carries on.

FIVE TIERS
Start with the 40 flags you half-know already. Master 80% of a tier and the next one opens, down to the ensigns and the pennant of Nepal.

SEE WHERE YOU STAND
Flags lit, flags mastered, and exactly what mastery takes. A confidence histogram, a streak calendar, accuracy per mode, and the pairs you keep mixing up — Chad and Romania, Indonesia and Monaco, the Nordic crosses.

QUIET BY DESIGN
Reminders about your flags are capped at three a week and only arrive when something is genuinely fading; the evening nudge that saves a streak has its own switch. Nothing in Flagory counts at you: no badges, no unread dots, no queue of things waiting.

Start playing in a second — no account needed. Sign in with Google whenever you want your flags on every phone, and safe if you lose this one. Everything works offline.

The artwork follows one public rule: the file each flag's English Wikipedia article shows, from Wikimedia Commons — and every flag is drawn at its real proportions, from Switzerland's square to Nepal's pennant.
Challenge a friend by link, play the daily ten, and learn every flag by heart.
