A small computer at home (e.g. Raspberry Pi, ~€100 one-time) running Home Assistant with the Franzl Gateway add-on — the app guides you through setup step by step. Already using Home Assistant? You'll be up and running in 10 minutes. No extra manufacturer hardware, no forced subscription: the full energy monitoring and manual control are free. The optional Pro subscription unlocks the autopilot — Franzl then plans and controls automatically around the clock. Every installation starts with 30 days of full functionality.
