The first frost always comes as a surprise – and hits hardest those who forgot to protect their vehicles this time. A burst water pipe, a cracked boiler: the damage can quickly run into the hundreds. Frost Watch alerts you days in advance, at the exact location of your motorhome, caravan, or campervan.
HOW IT WORKS
• Set your location once – via GPS, address search, or pin on the map. No background tracking.
• Twice a day, Frost Watch checks the hourly forecast for the next 7 days – at your precise coordinates.
• If the temperature drops below your threshold, you'll receive a push notification – with the lead time you need.
• Complete the winterization checklist: water, electricity, gas, vehicle, and interior.
WHY ALREADY AT +3°C?
The weather app measures at a height of two meters. At ground level – and on the undercarriage of your vehicle, where the pipes are located – it's three to five degrees colder on clear nights. That's why Frostwächter warns you early enough, using the same threshold as frost protection valves like the Truma FrostControl. You set the threshold and warning time yourself.
YOUR DATA REMAINS YOURS
• No account, no registration, no ads.
• No in-app tracking, no location history, no advertising ID.
• The app never requests background location permission.
• Data stored in Frankfurt (Firebase, europe-west3), can be deleted at any time within the app.
HONESTY IS HONESTY
Predictions can be wrong, push notifications can fail, and a phone can be offline. Frostwächter gives you advance warning – but it doesn't replace timely draining. Always refer to your vehicle manufacturer's manual.
