About this app

Keep a searchable SMS archive on your Android phone. HashKeep stores archived text messages in an encrypted local database, with optional backups to your own Google Drive. Local use needs no HashKeep account; Google Drive backup requires a Google account.

ARCHIVE AND FIND YOUR MESSAGES
Import existing SMS messages and capture incoming texts after granting SMS permissions. Search the archive and open individual messages. HashKeep copies messages into its own archive; it does not encrypt or replace your phone's messaging inbox.

BACK UP AND RESTORE
Create encrypted .hkv backups and check their integrity. Restore merges messages into HashKeep and skips duplicates. It does not restore messages into your default SMS app or resend them through your mobile carrier.

Moving to another phone? Create a portable Drive backup with a backup passphrase while you still have access to the original device. Keep that passphrase safely: it is needed to open the portable backup. Local .hkv exports and scheduled backups are device-bound and require the original device key.

OPTIONAL SMS FORWARDING
Configure Delivery to send readable copies of backed-up messages to your chosen email, Telegram or Discord destination. Copies are processed in batches, not as instant carrier forwarding. These network copies include message text, sender and time; they are separate from encrypted .hkv backups. Destination providers and recipients can read and retain them. Forwarding requires your configuration and a destination test. It does not send carrier SMS. Use it only for messages you are authorized to share.

PRIVACY AND CONTROL
The local archive and .hkv backups use AES-256 encryption. Keys use Android Keystore protection, with hardware protection where available. Exported CSV and PDF files are readable, so choose where you save and share them carefully.

HashKeep has no message-storage backend. Crash reports and usage diagnostics use Firebase, are enabled by default, and can be disabled in Settings. Message bodies are not included in those diagnostics. There are no ads.

Free features include the local archive, search, manual backup and restore, CSV export, 30-day retention and one active Delivery rule without advanced filters.

HashKeep Pro is a one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription. It adds scheduled Drive backups, PDF export, longer retention up to five years, additional Delivery rules and advanced filters. The current local price appears in Google Play before purchase.

SMS text only: no MMS, RCS or attachments. SMS permissions are needed for import and incoming capture. Android may delay background work; keep a verified backup and check that it can be restored before relying on it when changing phones.
