About this app

HazMap puts Storm Prediction Center (SPC) convective outlooks, Severe Thunderstorm Watches, Tornado Watches, Mesoscale Discussions and other NOAA severe weather products on an interactive map, designed for storm chasers, emergency managers, and anyone who lives and works around severe storms. This is the app that can help you plan your day and know what to expect from severe weather!

See today’s risk areas, watches, and mesoscale discussions at a glance, then step back in time through the archive to study past events and patterns.

Key features

• Live SPC convective outlooks (Day 1–4–8)
• SPC watch boxes and mesoscale discussions on an interactive map
• Storm reports overlay to compare outlooks with what actually happened
• Multiple map styles: street, satellite, hybrid, and a clean “white” map
• Optional layers for state lines, county lines, and NWS CWA boundaries
• Archive search by date to review previous severe weather setups

Free features

• Free download, no account required
• Day 1 convective outlook and SPC watches for live data
• Previous day’s archive access to review yesterday’s setup
• Basic map layers and controls

HazMap Pro (optional upgrade)

HazMap Pro is an optional annual subscription for users who need deeper history and an uncluttered workspace:

• Full SPC archive access beyond the previous day
• Ad-free experience throughout the app

HazMap Pro is billed annually at $5.99 (or your local equivalent). You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Google Play account settings.

HazMap is built by severe weather forecasters with a focus on clarity and utility, not hype. It is not an official product of the Storm Prediction Center, NOAA, or the National Weather Service, but it uses their publicly available data to give you a clear view of convective hazards—past and present—wherever you are.
