About this app

laroom gives the people around you a shared space: your class, your dorm floor, your building or your street. Each room belongs to a place and is locked with a 4-digit passcode, so only the people you invite can read and post.

HOW IT WORKS:
• See the rooms that exist within walking distance of you.
• Enter a room's passcode to join. Ask someone inside for the code.
• Create your own room in seconds: pick a name, an icon and how far away it can be seen, then share the passcode with the people you want in.
• Post text or photos, comment, and upvote the posts you like. Sort a room by New or Hot.
• Get a notification when someone comments on your post or joins your room.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN:
• No sign-up, no username, no profile picture and no phone number.
• Posts and comments never show who wrote them.
• Your exact location is never shown to anyone. Other people only see a rough distance, such as "about 300 m away".
• Reset your account at any time from the More tab. This deletes your rooms, posts, comments and votes.

LOCATION:
laroom needs your location while you use the app, because rooms are tied to places. It is used to show the rooms near you and to check that you are close enough to join one. It is not used for ads and is not shared with other users.

A RESPECTFUL COMMUNITY:
Anonymous doesn't mean anything goes. Harassment, threats, hate speech, sharing someone's personal information and sexual content are not allowed. You can report any post or comment in one tap, and reported content is hidden from you right away and reviewed. Rooms and posts that break the rules are removed.

Made for students, flatmates and neighbours who want a simple, private place to talk with the people around them.
Private chat rooms for people nearby. Join with a passcode, post anonymously.
