Encrypted messages, in the chats you already use.

Layergram encrypts messages on your device and lets you share them through your usual messaging apps. Exchange and verify Layergram identities with your contacts, then use your familiar conversations to carry encrypted messages.

THE LAYERGRAM KEYBOARD
The optional Android system keyboard brings Layergram into your chats. Select a verified contact, compose your message in the Layergram editor and insert the encrypted result into your conversation. To read a reply, copy the incoming encrypted message and choose Paste and decrypt. The readable text appears in the Layergram keyboard.

Enable the keyboard in Layergram and Android settings. You can also enable biometric reopening to resume an expired keyboard session. Activation, permissions and clipboard access remain under your control.

MESSAGES FROM THE FIRST SEND
The default mode lets your contact read the first encrypted message while a forward-secrecy session is negotiated. Messages sent before confirmation do not yet have forward-secrecy protection. Maximum mode requires a confirmed session before sending message text.

Premium adds an in-app keyboard, multiple identities, conversation folders and encrypted backup. On-device cover-message generation is available on supported hardware. Feature availability is shown in the app.

BEFORE YOU START
Your recipient needs Layergram and the correct identity to decrypt your messages. The messaging service you use can still see transport metadata, such as who communicates and when. Encryption does not replace device security or trust in your recipient.

Keep your recovery words safe. Restoring an identity does not, by itself, restore message history or forward-secrecy session state.

What’s new

New optional Layergram system keyboard: compose, encrypt and read messages in your usual chats with less app switching. Enable biometric reopening after session expiry. In Normal mode, text is readable from the first message while forward secrecy is negotiated. Improved keyboard return, emoji and backspace proportions, and navigation on unfolded displays. Copy and Share now reuse the same encrypted message; editing the draft prepares a new one.
