Vocamo is a vocabulary app for the words you actually meet.

You hear a word on the street, read it in a book, see it in a chat. Save it, and Vocamo writes the card for you: what it means in this context, real examples, pronunciation and the grammar you need. Nothing to fill in by hand, no deck to build.

JUST THE WORD
A word you overheard, saw on a sign or a receipt, or only remember in your own language is enough: there is nothing to read or import first. Type it in, and it goes straight into review, explained in your own language rather than as a one-line translation.

ANY PAIR OF 20 LANGUAGES
Arabic, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Ukrainian — learn any of them from any other. Greek from Russian, Spanish from German, English from Arabic: both sides are yours.

Every word shows where it is and when it comes back. Eight ways to practice — flashcards, multiple choice, typing, listening, word scramble, memory match, speed round and words in phrases — and only writing takes a word all the way to Mastered, because recognizing a word is not the same as producing it.

A DAY YOU CAN FINISH
Practice is capped, so a week away does not turn into a wall. When the day is done, the app tells you so.

A STORY FROM YOUR OWN WORDS
After a session, Vocamo writes a short story out of the words you answered today. Your words, in context, every day.

FOLLOW A PATH OR BUILD YOUR OWN
A path of everyday topics for your language pair — greetings, numbers, time, food — ready-made sets by level and word frequency, and your own collections for the words you meet in real life.
