Lexpad is an AI vocabulary notebook for the words you meet. Save a word, AI writes the flashcard, and spaced repetition brings it back just before you would forget it.
You bring the words, from a book, a show, a lesson or a chat. Lexpad never hands you a word list, and you can change anything the AI writes.
Save words in seconds
• Type a word and tap Fill with AI: meanings, examples with translations, pronunciation (IPA), part of speech and level (A1 to C2).
• Paste a text and tap the words you want, or paste your own list and check every card before it is saved.
• Import an Anki deck (.apkg), a CSV or TSV file, or the words you looked up on a Kindle. One tap then fills every word that has no meaning yet, without replacing anything you wrote.
Your words on your home screen
• Today widget: words due, new words, your streak and Start practice.
• Word card: a flashcard widget with one of your own due words. Tap to see the meaning, then Knew it or Didn't. Your answer counts as practice the next time Lexpad opens.
• Quick add: type a new word, or say it with voice input (Pro).
• Progress: new words this week, your five Leitner boxes and words mastered.
• Long-press the Lexpad icon for Add word or Start practice, or put the Add word tile in Quick Settings.
Practice a little every day
• Flashcards, recall, multiple choice, fill-in-the-gap, spelling and listening, plus games: Match, Speed round, Dictation, Sentence builder and Collocations.
• Five Leitner boxes: a word you remember waits longer (1, 3, 7 and 21 days, then up to a year); a word you miss comes back today. Or use the Smart schedule (beta), built on the open FSRS algorithm.
• A daily reminder with how many words are due, a streak, and a streak freeze for a day you miss.
• Practice works offline and syncs with the web app, browser extension and desktop app (beta). AI needs a connection.
81 languages, any pair
Build your vocabulary in Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, German, English or any of 81 languages, with meanings in the language you choose. AI cards are strongest in widely spoken languages. Right-to-left languages such as Arabic, Hebrew, Persian and Urdu are shown properly, in the app and in the widgets.
Accessible
Lexpad follows your system text size and reduced motion, has screen-reader labels and large touch targets, and its text meets WCAG AA contrast.
Lex, ChatGPT and Claude
• Lex (Pro) is an AI tutor that knows your newest words: it explains, compares and quizzes you. When you tap to agree, it adds, stars or retires a word; a word it adds gets its full AI card.
• Connect ChatGPT or Claude: they can save words with full cards, quiz you on due words and record your answers as practice. You can disconnect at any time.
Free and Pro
Free: one full notebook, with unlimited words; every practice type, both schedules and every rule; five games and drills, and streak freeze; AI cards every day, as full as on Pro; the browser extension and the desktop app; Lexpad in ChatGPT and Claude; sharing, import and export, sync across your devices. The widgets, shortcuts and tile are free too.
Pro adds Lex, an AI tutor for your own words; Words worth keeping: find expressions in what you read; many more AI cards each day; Say it, and Use it in a sentence; voice input: say a word instead of typing it; as many notebooks as you like, in any pair of languages.
Pro is 4.99 USD a month or 29.99 USD a year in the US; Google Play shows the price for your country, in your currency, before you pay. Subscriptions renew until you cancel. Most new accounts start with Pro free for a while, no card. When it ends, nothing you made is taken away.
Your data
No ads. Lexpad asks before anything you type is sent to an AI provider, and everything the AI writes has a Report link. Export your notebook or delete your account in Settings. Servers in the EU (Frankfurt).
