A note on battery usage

Continued use of GPS can reduce battery life. We recommend carrying a power bank, especially on longer routes or when using the app as your primary navigation tool.

Ratings and reviews

The recent update has made the app worse for navigation on my Pixel phone. It still works, but is harder to use. The position pointer does not align with the phone unless in map tracking mode. That mode is slow and insists on moving the map as you turn. The selected mode is lost when you lock/unlock the phone. Getting to a mode requires multiple presses. The elevation profile no longer shows where you are. Feels like the update was only well tested on a high spec phone. Disappointing.

The app suddenly started crashing on opening. Unusable. Had to reinstall it only to find out that it now forces permissions because the skip button doesn't work. The UI has completely changed, drastically degrading the usability. Very unreliable.

The latest version of the App is very poor. Poorly designed, we've lost a lot of features from the original App and it has clearly not been tested by anyone who has done a walk recently or used the old App. Why change the old App so drastically, it was working well???
