Most apps show you a number that went up. Meridian shows you the number that
matters: how much of that gain you can actually spend without your savings
losing buying power.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Add what you hold — a bank deposit, government bonds at a broker, an ETF, a
friend's IOU. Free text, an amount, a currency.
2. Once a month, log what it earned. Enter the amount, a percentage, or just
today's balance — Meridian works out the difference.
3. Get one number: what is safe to spend.

The arithmetic is not hidden:

inflation cost = capital × monthly inflation
real profit = gain − inflation cost

Every currency is charged its own official index, from the statistics office
that publishes it:

Meridian reproduces these published figures unchanged. Every index is linked to
its publisher above, and the same links appear inside the app beside the figures
themselves.

Indices publish about two weeks after a month ends, so Meridian always uses the
latest CONFIRMED month and names it on screen. It never shows a guess. Once a
month is closed it is frozen — a later revision never rewrites your history,
your streak or your badges.

WORKS WITHOUT AN ACCOUNT

Everything runs on your phone. Guest mode is the whole app, not a trial — your
figures live in local storage and are never sent anywhere. Make an account only
if you want backup, sync across devices, or Premium, and everything already on
the phone moves into it. Nothing is lost.

MERIDIAN PREMIUM

The core loop is free. Premium adds 1, 5 and 10-year real projections,
unlimited portfolios and currencies, automatic allocation to your buckets, and
a notification on the day new inflation figures are published.

WHAT MERIDIAN IS NOT

NOT A GOVERNMENT APP. Meridian is an independent app made by Vs Software. It is
not a government entity or a government service, and it is not affiliated with,
endorsed by or authorised by Eurostat, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the
UK Office for National Statistics, Institutul Naţional de Statistică or any
other statistical authority. It reproduces inflation figures those offices have
already published, and links to each of them so you can check the original.

It does not connect to your bank. It has no brokerage login, takes no card, and
cannot move, hold or invest money. You record what happened; it does the
arithmetic.

What’s new

Fixes: money held in a currency you had not yet logged was being counted before inflation touched it, so History could say you were ahead while every other screen said behind. The widget's Shield ring now sweeps from twelve. A corrected month is labelled Edited rather than Logged.
