About this app

Omnitext is a private, offline editor that adapts to whatever file you open. One app for code, data, documents, PDFs and spreadsheets, all on your device.

Everything runs locally. Your files are never uploaded. There is no account, no sign-in, no tracking and no ads. Open a file, edit it, and save it back, completely offline.

WHAT YOU CAN EDIT
- PDF: edit text in place, add text and images, zoom and pan.
- Word (.docx) and OpenDocument (.odt): rich text, headings, tables, page layout, comments and tracked changes, preserving the parts you do not touch.
- Spreadsheets (.xlsx, .ods): a grid editor with multiple sheets and formulas.
- Code and data: JSON, JSON5, YAML, XML, HTML, CSS, Markdown, CSV/TSV, INI, TOML, SQL, LaTeX, shell, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python and more, with syntax highlighting.
- Markdown in a clean rich-text view, or as raw source.
- View images, audio, video and archives.
