Your child says the word. The kitten hears it. That is the whole game.
Paw Walk is a walking game for children 2 to 7 who are learning to talk. A kitten presses its paw to the inside of the screen and asks your child to hold a finger on the matching spot. While they hold, the two of them walk together. An apple appears beside the road. The kitten stops, points at it, and asks: "What is it?"
Then it listens. Your child answers out loud.
WHY THIS ONE IS DIFFERENT
Most word apps ask a child to tap the right picture. Paw Walk asks them to say it. Saying the word out loud is the hard part, and it is the part that counts.
NOBODY IS EVER WRONG
There are no failure states anywhere in the game. If the kitten does not catch the word, it says "Hmm? One more time!" - the kitten misheard, your child did not fail. If your child stays quiet, the kitten names it for them - "It's an apple!" - and invites them to say it together. Every object gets collected. Every walk reaches the picnic.
THE VOICE NEVER LEAVES THE PHONE
Speech is recognized entirely on the device. Nothing is recorded, nothing is saved, nothing is uploaded - not a clip, not a transcript. The microphone opens only while the listening light is on, for a few seconds at a time, and the audio is gone the instant the word is matched.
We can be blunt about this because there is nothing to qualify: Paw Walk makes no network connections at all. No ads. No analytics. No tracking. No accounts. No third-party code. It works in airplane mode, in the car, on a plane, in a waiting room, anywhere.
A WALK, NOT A TREADMILL
One walk is three to five minutes, and then it ends. The kitten gets sleepy and says "See you tomorrow!" There is no endless scroll, no streak that punishes you for missing a day, no countdown, and no character who gets sad when your child puts the phone down. Finishing is the reward.
WHAT IS INSIDE
- Eight to twelve objects to name on every walk, across fruit, animals, vehicles, home, nature and clothes
- A journal that fills in as words are collected - tap any object to hear its name again and say it back
- Difficulty that follows your child: words are grouped by how hard they are to pronounce, and the game steps up or down on its own
- Toddler mode for ages 2 and 3 - the kitten names things first and celebrates any attempt at all
- A recap card for grown-ups after every walk: words practiced, streak, total
- Left-handed mirroring, sound sliders, and one tap to delete all local data
IF THE MICROPHONE IS OFF
Paw Walk is fully playable without it. Your child taps the object, the kitten names it, and it still goes in the journal. Permission is asked for once, after a plain-language screen explaining exactly what the microphone is for.
FOR GROWN-UPS
Anything involving money or a link outside the app sits behind a parental gate - a small multiplication problem. Your child never sees a price, never meets a locked character wearing a sad face, and is never interrupted in the middle of a walk to be sold something.
Free: one walk a day, the meadow, the kitten, and the starter word set. Premium: every biome, every friend, three walks a day, the full catalog, and the complete journal with stickers.
