Want a photo of yourself while travelling, but hesitate to hand your unlocked phone to a stranger?

PhotoBuddy is a way to get the photo without ever letting go of your phone.

■ How it works

1. Show a QR code in the app
2. Whoever helps points their phone camera at it
3. They shoot from the page that opens, and the photos arrive on your phone

The person helping installs nothing. No sign-up, no login. The only permission asked for is the camera.

■ Why it works this way

· Your phone stays with you
No unlocking it and handing it over. They shoot from a web page.

· Nothing is left on their phone
The camera page never saves a photo to the device taking it.

· You pick the language they read
Ask for help abroad and they see the instructions in their own language: Korean, English, Japanese or Spanish.

· Deleted after 30 minutes
Once delivered, the server removes them automatically. This cannot be undone.

· Their location never travels with the photo
All EXIF data is stripped before the photo is sent.

Your first request works without signing in. Sign in to receive 3 more free uses. A use is spent only when a photo actually reaches your gallery — showing a QR code, and receiving photos you do not keep, are both free.
