About this app

Heading out on a trail, a long drive, a late shift, or meeting someone new? You shouldn't have to text anyone "I'll let you know when I'm done."

Set a plan and a check-in time. No heads-up text to anyone. If you check in, nothing happens: nobody's bothered, nothing to explain. If you don't, PingThree sends up to three people you picked a text and an email with the details you chose to share.

Go out. Adventure. We'll keep your people in the loop.

YOUR PHONE DOESN'T HAVE TO MAKE IT
Once your plan is set, the countdown runs on our servers, not on your phone. Phone smashed on a mountain? Dropped in a lake? Car broken down somewhere with no signal? You can't call anyone, but your people still get notified when you miss your check-in. That's the difference between PingThree and just carrying your phone. (Your phone needs a connection to set a plan and to check in.)

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
- No GPS. No location tracking. PingThree never follows you around.
- You choose what goes in a plan, who can see it, and when. Your people see it only if you miss your check-in or send it yourself.
- The link they get stops working after about 72 hours.
- No ads. No third-party trackers in the app. We never sell your information.
- Delete your account in the app any time, and your plans, photos and contacts go with it.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Create a plan: where you'll be, who you're meeting, and when you'll check in by.
2. Pick your people: up to three trusted contacts, added with their permission.
3. Check in with one tap, or add more time if plans run long.

Miss your check-in? After a 10-minute grace period, your people receive a text and an email with a secure link to the details you shared: who you were meeting, where, and when your plan started.

BUILT-IN FLEXIBILITY
- Grace period: a missed tap doesn't instantly notify anyone; you get 10 minutes to check in first.
- Need more time: extend your check-in with one tap, mid-plan.
- Bailout: need an exit? Tap Bailout and a chosen contact gets a text asking them to call you a few minutes later.
- Your contacts can opt out any time by replying STOP, and the app shows you who has.

THE HONEST FINE PRINT
PingThree is a notification tool, not a monitoring service. No person watches your plans, and it doesn't contact 911. Text and email delivery depends on carriers and networks, so PingThree should never be your only way to reach someone.

What’s new

Updated Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, effective October 5, 2026. You'll be asked to review and accept them the next time you open the app. Body text is a little heavier and easier to read. On Android 14 and earlier, the app now fills the whole screen with clear status-bar icons. Signing out is smoother.
