About this app

Simple tools. Free and open source. No ads, bloat or other annoyances.

That's the PlainOSS approach: useful tools without the unnecessary fuss. No account required.

AR Ruler helps you estimate everyday measurements with your Android camera. Place points on a detected surface, adjust them, and keep the results you need.

FOUR WAYS TO MEASURE
• Distance: measure between two points.
• Path: add up connected segments.
• Area: trace and close the corners of one flat surface.
• Angle: place three points, with the middle point as the vertex.

LESS CLUTTER, MORE CAMERA
Keep the result and Save button close at hand. Expand the details when you want to change modes, copy a result or adjust individual points. Undo a step or clear the measurement and start again.

KEEP THE USEFUL NUMBERS
Each saved camera measurement includes a photo with its measurement overlay, so you can see what you measured. Tap photos to enlarge them, rename records, or delete records and their photos individually or by clearing history. Keep 20 saves by default, or choose 50, 100 or 200 in settings. Copy one result, share measurement text, or share a saved photo with its measurement overlay using Android's sharing tools. Switch between meters, centimeters, millimeters, inches, feet and yards; use degrees or radians for angles. Your unit preferences are remembered.

NO ACCOUNT. NO ADS.
PlainOSS adds no advertising or analytics SDKs. Measurements, history and preferences are stored on your device unless you choose to copy or share them. Photos are saved privately on your device when you tap Save.

BEFORE YOU MEASURE
A supported ARCore device and Google Play Services for AR are required. Tracking works best with good lighting and textured surfaces. Accuracy varies with the scene, distance and tracking quality. Results are estimates, not a substitute for precision or safety-critical measuring tools.

Google Play Services for AR is provided by Google and has its own data practices. Read the linked privacy policy for details.
