An ad pops up, but you have no idea which app to check?

PopTrace helps you keep clues instead of relying on memory. Start a session, then tap to save when a pop-up appears. See which apps were observed before your mark, narrow down what to check, and come back to your saved record later.

Record, mark, review
• Choose guidance for ads over other apps, a browser that opens by itself, notification ads, ads inside an app, or an uncertain source.
• For supported situations, start a 30-minute window-recording session after enabling the recorder.
• Mark the moment with the in-app capture button. Android Quick Settings and accessibility shortcuts provide additional capture entry points where supported.
• Review recorded window events. Optional usage access adds recent foreground-app context.
• Revisit saved captures, search the history, record your feedback, or open Android app details and uninstall confirmation yourself.

What the clues mean
A recorded window change means Android named an app around your capture. It does not prove that the app displayed an ad. Foreground history is context, not evidence of responsibility. Coverage depends on the window type and Android/OEM behavior. PopTrace provides observation and review tools rather than automatic ad blocking or automatic removal.

Your records and choices
Window evidence stays on your device. PopTrace does not retrieve page text, screenshots or typed content. Only the captures you mark are saved, up to 20 captures for 7 days; expired records are removed on the next app launch. Core recording and capture features work offline, without an app account.

Optional diagnostics use Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. Collection starts only after you enable diagnostics; declining keeps core features available. Diagnostics include app usage, recording-check results and window-event counts, crash/ANR and app/device diagnostics, random installation identifiers and approximate location inferred from network addresses. Our diagnostic events exclude raw window history, other apps' package/class names and search terms. Analytics data may also be used under the linked Google account's sharing settings for Google products and services, modeling and business insights, technical support and business recommendations. Accessibility access
The window recorder uses Android's AccessibilityService API to receive window-state changes with app package/class names and timestamps. It cannot retrieve window contents or perform gestures. A separate in-app disclosure appears before opening Android Accessibility settings. Optional usage access is explained separately.

What’s new
