Alys — Medical treatment tracker

Alys is an Android app designed to support the parents and loved ones of a child undergoing long-term medical treatment. Each day, it brings together what you need to know: the medications to give, upcoming appointments, current dosages — all with no internet connection, no account, no cloud.

Key features

📅 Interactive calendar
Monthly view with color coding per treatment. Tap a day to see the details of the care planned. Appointments can be moved when needed.

💊 Dosage & history
Record every dose change with a note and a date. The full history of changes can be viewed treatment by treatment.

🔄 Cyclic recurrences
Daily, weekly, every 2, 4 or 12 weeks — future events are generated automatically until the end of the treatment.

🏥 Next hospital appointment
Shown as a banner on the home screen, the next hospital appointment is always visible at a glance.

⚠️ Fasting alerts
Some medical procedures require fasting. The app shows this clearly in the calendar and on the home screen.

📊 Customizable widgets
Choose which treatments to show as a widget on the home screen, with the icon of your choice and a countdown of the remaining sessions.

🔗 Linked care
Some treatments automatically trigger other care on the following days. Moving the parent event repositions all the associated care.

📤 JSON export
Export the entire calendar as JSON from the home screen to archive it or share it with the medical team.

⚙️ Flexible settings
Patient's first name, treatment start and end dates — everything can be changed at any time.

Privacy

A child's medical data is no one's business but their family's and care team's. That's why Alys works entirely offline:

• No remote server — everything stays on your phone
• No user account required
• No trackers, no ads, no telemetry
• Stored in a local SQLite database, never synced
• The JSON export is encrypted and can only be decrypted by the destination phone

The source code is fully open source and auditable on GitHub.

About

Alys was created for Alexis, a child being treated for leukemia. It is released for free, without ads, in the hope of helping other families going through the same ordeal.
