About this app

Sailing Tracker turns your mobile phone into your boat's GPS tracker during a regatta. No additional hardware is needed: simply install the app, join the event, and the race committee and the rest of the fleet will see your live position.

FOR SAILORS
• Join an event by scanning the QR code provided by the race committee.

• Tap "Start Event Tracking" before going out on the water and put your phone away: the app will send your position, speed, and heading throughout the session, even with the screen locked.

• View the current race, the next start, your speed (SOG), heading (COG), and submitted points on your screen.

• If you lose signal, the points are saved on your phone and sent when the connection is restored.

• Hear the starting sequence audio signals (5 minutes, 4, 1, and final countdown) when the race committee starts the race, even with your screen off.

FOR THE RACE COMMITTEE
• Manage races from your mobile device: 5-minute start sequence, start, general call, postponement, and finish.

• Capture buoy positions from the committee boat.

• Follow the entire fleet live on the map.

RESULTS AND ANALYSIS
The tracks feed the live viewer, replay, and event leaderboard on the website.

PRIVACY
Your position is only sent while event tracking is active and is only visible to the committee, participants, and authorized event viewers. You can delete your account and data from Profile › Delete my account.

Battery usage: Continuous GPS tracking consumes battery; we recommend going out on the water with a fully charged phone.
