About this app

ScooterRoute is navigation for your moped in the Netherlands. Navigation is free and ad free. It always will be.

Car navigation puts you on the motorway, or sends you the long way round to avoid traffic you would have passed anyway. Bicycle navigation does the opposite and puts you on paths a moped often is not allowed on. ScooterRoute routes by the rules that apply to your vehicle, at 45 km/h: it uses bromfietspaden, and it will not send you down a bicycle-only path.

What you get:

- Routes from address to address, or pinned location on the map, with alternatives to choose between
- On screen navigation that calls every turn in time, with the distance to it
- Automatic rerouting the moment you turn off somewhere else
- Our own map of the Netherlands, which we maintain ourselves with your help
- Dutch or English, your choice

Worth knowing: ScooterRoute currently assumes you ride a 45 km/h moped (yellow plate). If you ride a 25 km/h snorfiets (blue plate), some routes will not be right for you yet. We are working on it.

Something wrong on the map? There is a button in the app to report it on the spot, with the location attached. We read every report and fix the map where it needs fixing, and those corrections are in everyone's routes within a week.

The map can contain mistakes. Road signs and traffic rules always take priority over what the app tells you, and you stay responsible for how you ride. So set your route before you set off, and keep your eyes on the road rather than on your screen.

What’s new

Picked a route other than the fastest one? It now stays that way when the app recalculates along the way, for example after a missed turn. Before, it would quietly switch back to the fastest route.
