Shathra is a bilingual Arabic app for readers. It's the place where the lines you underline never slip away.
Save a quote from anything you read—a printed Arabic book, an English book on your screen, or a screenshot—in seconds. Write down what it resonated with you. And come back to it whenever you need it.

• Photograph a printed page and Shathra will read its text to you—in Arabic, English, or both on the same page.
• Upload a screenshot from your e-reader.
• Or write the quote by hand.
Your thoughts are as important as the quote itself. What the line evokes in you is part of it. Your thoughts have their own space, their own search, and remain as private as you want them to be. Write a sentence or a whole essay—there's no limit, and you can come back and add more later.

• Sort by book, author, date, language, or subject.
• Search in natural language—describe a quote you half-remember, and someone will find a snippet of your own.
• Engage with your library: Ask questions and think aloud as you read, drawing on what you've already memorized.
