Control a compatible TV from your Android phone over your home network. SimpleRemote brings large, separated direction buttons, everyday remote controls and eligible sleep timers into one calm interface.
• Large Up, Down, Left, Right and OK targets.
• Local discovery or manual private-IP setup; save multiple TVs.
• Navigation, volume, playback, input and power controls where the selected TV supports them.
• Phone keyboard on supported TV text fields.
• Optional experimental Samsung air mouse using your phone's gyroscope.
• Phone-based sleep timers on eligible LG, Sony and Samsung interfaces.
• Clearly labeled demo mode to explore without a TV.
TV compatibility
Interfaces are provided for compatible LG webOS and Sony BRAVIA IP-control models. Experimental local integrations include Samsung Tizen, Android TV / Google TV Remote Service v2, VIZIO SmartCast, legacy Philips JointSPACE v1 and legacy Panasonic VIERA network remote.
Compatibility depends on model, firmware, network settings and the TV app. Experimental integrations have not been validated on physical TVs and may not work with your model. A brand name alone does not establish compatibility. Android TV / Google TV requires its Remote Service v2. Encrypted Panasonic pairing and newer Philips authenticated interfaces are not included. Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, VIDAA and infrared control are not included.
Setup and limitations
Turn the TV on and connect the phone to the same trusted home network. Approve pairing on the TV, enter its displayed code or configure its supported IP-control key. Deep standby and network isolation can prevent connection or power-on. Samsung wake requires the correct TV MAC address and network standby enabled. Text entry and pointer controls are not accepted by every TV app.
Sleep timers run on your phone, not inside the TV. Keep the phone powered on, permitted to run and on the TV's network. Reboot, force-stop, permission loss or network loss can prevent shutoff. Missed commands are never replayed. New experimental Android TV, VIZIO, Philips and Panasonic paths do not offer background sleep timers.
No SimpleRemote sign-in is required. A banner on the Remote, Timers and Devices tabs supports the app. It stays separate from controls and is hidden during pairing and input dialogs. Google provides advertising and processes advertising and diagnostic data, with applicable privacy choices. TV commands travel directly to your TV; no Urmia Works cloud-control service is used. Some legacy interfaces use unencrypted local HTTP. Your TV apps retain their own privacy practices.
