About this app

The Sun is going to make a fool of itself on August 12, 2026.

The Moon will completely cover the Sun for a few moments in a path that passes over northern Spain (the first total eclipse over the Iberian Peninsula in 121 years). Solazo tells you exactly what you'll see from where you are… and where you need to go if that's not enough.

Why is this eclipse special (and a little treacherous)?
In Spain, the Sun will be only 2–12° above the horizon. A hill, an apartment building, or a row of trees and a 400 km drive will give you a view of a wall. The longest totality on land barely reaches ~1 minute 45 seconds. That's why Solazo puts the Sun's altitude and the horizon in the center, not just a countdown.

What Solazo does:
• Times down to the second calculated on your mobile phone using NASA/GSFC Besselian elements. Works offline.

• Choose the minimum you want to see: totality (≥30 s), 90%+ of the Sun covered, or 75%+.

• Nearby locations sorted by clear skies (August weather), Sun's altitude, horizon, and distance.

• Alerts at key times: two weeks prior, the night before, that morning, and right before important contacts.

• Daily stories with real countdowns for Instagram and TikTok.

• Clear explanations in Spanish (totality, razor's edge, Sun's altitude, etc.) with Sol, our sun with sunglasses.

Free vs. Total Sunlight
You can explore the area and get a general idea without paying. Total Sunlight is a one-time unlock (no subscription required) that unlocks the exact times, the sorted locations, all alerts, and stories.

Important
• The calculations are geometric: they don't check buildings, trees, or the specific topography of a point. The locations are places to explore, not verified viewpoints. • Only use goggles or viewers that meet the ISO 12312-2 standard. Regular sunglasses do not provide protection.

• Directions open in your existing map app (Google Maps or another compatible app). Solazo does not include an embedded map.

One eclipse. One payment. Made in Spanish for those who refuse to stare at a wall.
