About this app

Taide (say TIE-deh) is Finnish for art.

Genuine artworks by real artists from renowned museum collections, as your phone wallpaper. Taide brings more than 59,000 public-domain artworks in high resolution to your home screen and lock screen. No AI-generated art, no ads and no account needed.

The art comes from the open collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Finnish National Gallery, the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago: paintings, Japanese woodblock prints, drawings and watercolours.

A NEW PAINTING EVERY MORNING
The daily highlight can change your wallpaper each morning, free. A morning notification tells you about the day's artwork and new featured artists and themes.

AUTOMATIC WALLPAPER CHANGER
With Taide Pass, your wallpaper changes on its own:
• Rotate a theme, a movement, an artist, a colour or your own collection, from every hour to every week.
• Times of day follows the light: six artworks a day, from dawn to night, changing with sunrise and sunset. Choose a city or use fixed hours; no location permission needed.
• Colour relay: each new wallpaper shares a colour with the one before.
• Run different rotations on the home screen and the lock screen.

MUSEUM PLACARD WIDGET
A small home screen widget names the painting on your wallpaper, like the label beside it in a gallery. Taide Pass also unlocks a Next-button to move your rotation on.
