Tapcade is a feed of small puzzle games. Swipe up and the next one starts. That is the whole app.
Nearly seventy games are in it today, and more are added regularly. Each one is built to be understood in a few seconds and finished in a few minutes: no tutorial to sit through, no account to make, no interruption while you are thinking.
WHAT YOU WILL FIND
• Logic puzzles: sudoku, nonogram, futoshiki, hitori, star battle, binary grids, minesweeping
• Block and shape puzzles: fitting, stacking, packing, clearing lines
• Sliding puzzles: unblock the car, push the crate, slide the tiles home
• Sorting and colour puzzles: tubes, shelves, yarn, screws, hue gradients
• Paths and drawing: pipes, wires, one-line loops, mirrors and beams
• Solitaire and card games: FreeCell, TriPeaks, Golf
• Memory and spotting: pairs, differences, sequences
• A handful of quick reflex games, for when you do not feel like thinking
HOW IT WORKS
Swipe up for the next game, swipe down to go back. Every card carries a "how to play" button that shows an animated diagram, so a game you have never seen explains itself before you touch it.
Every level in every game is checked to be solvable before it reaches you, and the difficulty curves are measured rather than guessed. Level twenty is genuinely harder than level five, instead of randomly harder.
MADE TO BE CALM
Plenty of the games have no way to lose at all, so you can take as long as you like. Nothing flashes, nothing shakes, nothing nags you to come back.
The whole app is drawn in soft paper colours, with three palettes you can switch between at any time. Every coloured piece also carries its own shape, so the games still work if you are colour blind.
