TBS is the course app to read, listen or watch the authors of 'Why do I have to Sit Still?' read their book. This book is written by Mark Brokenshire and Lisa Orvis and this is the official app for the authors created and published by ThisCity (Apps & Services). There are related questions and the capacity to join a cohort who are reading together and meeting on Zoom to discuss the content.
The app contains the text, subtitles, audio and video of the book. Users download the course in sections to store and access the course content offline. Answers are synced to cloud storage for course leaders when user devices have internet access in the background.
The book helps Christian educators to reflect on their educational practice and consider how they might teach differently and become a more effective practitioner. This is the commendation from David Hamilton:
Be warned! You hold in your hands a very powerful book.
If you allow yourself to explore the foundational questions that Mark and Lisa raise, you will find yourself on a remarkable journey of discovery and transformation. Reading this book will challenge you to re-consider your core beliefs, to re-evaluate your experiences and to re-form your strategies from new understanding of what God wants to do in and through education.
I have had the privilege of knowing and working closely with both Mark and Lisa over many years. They are remarkable people. What they write is not theory. It’s reality. It’s how they live their lives – and it’s how you could live your life too!
So, by all means, sit down, be still, and read this book!
No. That’s not right. You don’t have to sit down and be still.
But you should definitely read this book!
