About this app

Vela Fox is a privacy-first, nearby companion for compatible Tesla vehicles. Pair inside the vehicle with a physical Tesla key card, then use encrypted Bluetooth controls, record confirmed drives, replay routes, and ask for grounded analysis directly on your phone.
Vehicle keys, detailed trips, and AI prompts stay in the app's encrypted local vault. AI responses stay local unless the user deliberately opens Report response, reviews the privacy-redacted payload, and submits it. Vela has no vehicle account, advertising, Tesla Fleet API, remote vehicle proxy, cloud AI service, or remote driving-data processing. Google's on-device ML components may send limited SDK diagnostics—but not prompts, images, recognized text, AI output, VINs, routes, or vehicle telemetry.

DRIVE HUD

• GPS speed, bearing, acceleration/regen, altitude, distance, and map context
• HUD values are estimates; the vehicle instruments remain authoritative for driving, navigation, and safety
WEAR OS COMPANION
The non-standalone Wear OS companion displays phone-supplied drive estimates and relays lock or two-step unlock through the paired phone. All three devices must be reachable. The vehicle key never moves to the watch.
MAP AND ADDRESS PRIVACY
AI, VIN recognition, commands, and trip analysis do not use a Vela server. Uncached maps request only the visible area from OpenFreeMap over HTTPS; imported PMTiles can work offline. Address labels may use Android's system geocoder. Directions send selected coordinates only to the maps app you choose. Google Play handles checkout and model delivery under its own terms.
IMPORTANT LIMITS
Vela is nearby-only. Bluetooth range is required for live status and commands. Remote climate, distant battery checks, saved Sentry/Dashcam clips, and continuous away alerts are not available. Compatibility requires Tesla's nearby Vehicle Command service and supported phone hardware.

What’s new

Beta08 improves Tesla Bluetooth pairing reliability, adds clearer illustrated physical-key-card guidance, strengthens phone and Pixel Watch relay syncing, and protects against duplicate or cross-route commands. Independent Watch Key enrollment remains under Internal testing.
