WhoTalks helps you understand how much you talk vs. listen in one-on-one, in-person meetings.
Make your next conversation more reciprocal, bidirectional, and collaborative!
WhoTalks gives you objective, real-time feedback so that you can adjust your communication right away—speak up more often or listen more.
For example, during a typical one-on-one meeting between an extroverted manager and an introverted employee, the WhoTalks app can help both sides maintain the employee’s talking time at 70–80%. Otherwise, the ratio will probably be 50% or even lower.
IMPROVE YOUR MEETING’S DYNAMICS
Capture objective, reliable measurements—the proportion of the meeting you spent listening vs. talking:
* After the meeting, compare your perception to the actual measurement. You may be surprised by how much your subjective opinion differs from the objective facts.
* During the meeting, check your participation rate periodically. Decide whether you should adjust your behavior—either talk more or listen more.
Your meeting partner may also use the feedback from WhoTalks to adjust how they participate.
SIMPLE TO USE
1) Open the WhoTalks app on your phone and log in using Google Login.
2a) Place your phone on the table next to you and press the "Host meeting" button.
2b) Have your meeting partner place their phone in front of them and press the "Join meeting" button.
3) Each of you will see your own "percent listened" number. Decide for yourself whether you should try to listen more or participate more.
HOW IT WORKS
The app determines who is talking by continuously measuring when sound waves hit the microphones on each phone with high precision. To get accurate results, please place the phones:
* At least 2 feet (60+ centimeters) apart.
* Directly between you and your partner - not too far to the side.
