Everyday is a habit-tracking and focus app that helps you build consistency and discipline by limiting distracting apps.
Set personal habits, track daily progress, and stay accountable over time. Everyday encourages positive behavior through simple tracking, daily usage budgets, and accountability mechanisms — including optional stakes you can put behind a commitment.
To help you stick to your goals, Everyday lets you pick specific apps, app categories, or websites and set a daily time budget for them. Once you use up that budget for the day, Everyday shows a full-screen reminder screen over the selected app so you can pause and decide whether to continue.
To detect when a distracting app is opened and show this reminder screen, Everyday uses Android's Accessibility Service API. This is required because Android does not provide any other way for an app to detect when another app is opened and display an overlay on top of it. Everyday only uses the Accessibility Service to:
- Detect which app is currently in the foreground, so it can determine whether it belongs to one of your selected apps/categories.
- Display our own full-screen overlay reminding you of your usage budget when that budget is used up.
Everyday does not use the Accessibility Service to read, collect, or transmit the content of other apps, log keystrokes, or access any personal data displayed on your screen. No accessibility data is sent to our servers or shared with third parties.
Everyday aims to make habit formation more intentional by rewarding consistency and discouraging missed habits through structured accountability.
