A wonderful option to play your favorite game music such as .nsf, .gbs, etc. The only problem is its support for .hes, since the player has a limit of 32 tracks for that format, and there are a number of TG16 soundtracks where the music starts at a later number, such as Bomberman '94, where the music starts at #107. Other than that, it's a great player I can recommend. Edit: One idea for that particular soundtrack is to have the player automatically start at #107, like NEZplug++ for Winamp does.

Unfortunately, that shitty .hes format has no information about total tracks count, so 32 tracks is a kind of compromise to avoid "there are a number of TG16 soundtracks where the music finishes at a earlier number". Nezplug uses additional companion files for .hes

This is overall really great, and supports a surprisingly wide variety of formats! Having come from Droidsound after it hit the point of age-related incompatibility, I'd say this is a solid transition for sure. However, on that same front, I do sorely miss one thing: I have some .IT (ImpulseTracker) music files which have subsongs, and ZXtune has no idea about them. It seems to ignore the loop points that separate them, even when the player's in loop mode, and also can't skip betwen them.

I need to investigate how to support it. Could you please point some example tracks?

09/30 Edit: In my original review, I mentioned that saving and loading Playlists is not entirely intuitive. It's a somewhat clunky step-by-step progress at present, and loading Playlists also rescans all the files. While this remains true, the author IS WORKING ON IT, which I appreciate! That aside, this is a darn good little player for most module formats (except FST) and several chiptune formats (ZX Spectrum, C64, et cetera.) It has options for cover art, too! Simple, but very sweet.
