PreserVamos is a citizen science initiative developed jointly by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the AppEar project and different municipalities in the province of Buenos Aires to study freshwater aquatic environments .
The UNDP Accelerator Laboratory has been working on different initiatives and policies related to the environment. Within this framework, a collaboration was undertaken with AppEAR, who designed a tool that works through an application where the user can study aquatic environments.
It is oriented so that it can be used by people with and without scientific knowledge, since after observing the environment, a short form is answered and some photos are uploaded that capture what is observed. The contribution of the tool is that anyone can map the body of water, making a contribution to knowing the status of the habitat, which generates information and thus helps to preserve it.
