Its scientific name means: do (Greek) korus, koruthus, koruphē = helmet, crown of the head; and from spingus, spiza, spizō = finch, bird; and from (Latin) cucullata, cucullatus, cucullus = hooded, hooded, hooded. ⇒ Hooded crowned finch or Hooded crowned finch.
