This study, somewhat crazy a priori, is based on the assertion that by having an intimate and sincere conversation, two people can establish a personal bond and achieve the desired understanding. I mean, fall in love.

Falling in love with another person is a physical and chemical process that is often influenced by multiple factors. Mutual vulnerability fosters closeness, allowing yourself to be close to another person can be extremely difficult, so this exercise forces this aspect.

The study has a scientific basis, prepared more than a decade ago by the psychologist Arthur Aron, among others. In their experimentation phase, they selected several heterosexual couples, who did not know each other at all, to sit facing each other and chat intimately, answering the 36 questions developed for the study. The result concluded with one of those couples getting married 6 months after that first meeting.

This study has recently come to light from the hand of Mandy Len Catron, a professor of literature at Columbia University in Vancouver, who described her positive experience in an article published in The New York Times. He assures that trying his luck with this questionnaire, he ended up having a relationship with an old university friend whom he invited to participate.
