About this app

The application offers 3 prayers. The Angelus, the Magnificat, the Regina Caeli.

The Angelus is a prayer in memory of the mystery of the Incarnation, it recalls the salvific event by which, according to the Father's plan, the Word, through the work of the Holy Spirit, became man in the womb of the Virgin Mary.
This devotion is recited three times a day, at dawn, at midday and at sunset. At these times a bell, sometimes called the "Angelus bell" or "Hail Mary bell", is rung.
Starting from the pontificate of Pope Paul VI, some radio and television stations, including in Eurovision, broadcast the recitation of the Angelus: every Sunday at midday the Pope gives a short speech at the end of which he recites the Angelus which, in Eastertide, it is replaced by the Regina Coeli.

The Magnificat is a prayer that Holy Mary raised when she met Saint Elizabeth, it is a prayer of praise, thanksgiving and grateful joy.
“Let the soul of Mary magnify the Lord in each one, and the spirit of Mary in each one to rejoice in God; we pray to the Lord to help us magnify it with the spirit and soul of Mary and to bring Christ again to our world.

The Regina Caeli is a prayer addressed to Mary, mother of the Risen One and, since 1742, it has traditionally been sung or recited during Easter time, that is, from Easter Sunday to the day of Pentecost as a replacement for the Angelus.
