About this app

Help us to understand what is "chido or gacho" of the bodies of water and their sediments in the Usumacinta!

Remember that rivers, lagoons or flood zones are not just water; its currents transport all the materials that the water incorporates in its contact with the ground, whether dissolved, suspended or deposited, such as rocks, gravel and sand. These materials are known as sediments and play a major role in the environment and in our lives. For example, in agricultural fertilization, as building materials (roads, buildings, flood protection), in the decoration of gardens and murals, as nesting areas and aquatic biodiversity. Registering the photographs of what we think is "chido or gacho" of a body of water and its sediments, allows us to know what practices we humans do on these resources helping or affecting these spaces.

Tell us what you think about the water and its sediment in the Usumacinta and why.

We want to know your opinion!
